Premium Changes to Europe, the C.I.S and Northern Africa

Following quarterly OECD meetings on 27 January 2010, the risk classification of multiple countries were reviewed in the regions of Europe and the C.I.S, and of Northern Africa, as well as two multilateral institutions (Black Sea Trade and Development Bank and the African Development Bank). The following four countries have had their OECD rating altered:

  • Estonia - was downgraded from 3 to 4
  • Latvia - was downgraded from 4 to 5
  • Lithuania - was downgraded from 3 to 4
  • Serbia - was upgraded from 7 to 6

Premium Changes to the Sub-Saharan Africa region, Kazakhstan and Russian Federation

Following quarterly OECD meetings on 21 – 22 October 2009, the risk classification of 46 countries were reviewed in the Sub-Saharan Africa region, as well as Kazakhstan and Russian Federation . The following three countries have been downgraded:

  • Botswana - was downgraded from 2 to 3
  • Kazakhstan - was downgraded from 4 to 5
  • Russian Federation - was downgraded from 3 to 4

Premium Changes in Asia and Middle East, as well as Romania, Ukraine (and the Asian Development Bank)

Following quarterly OECD meetings in April 2009, the risk classification of 38 countries were reviewed. The following eight countries have been upgraded or downgraded:

  • Maldives - was downgraded from 6 to 7
  • Pakistan - was downgraded from 6 to 7
  • Viet Nam - was downgraded from 4 to 5
  • Syria - was upgraded from 7 to 6
  • Romania - was downgraded from 3 to 4
  • Ukraine - was downgraded from 6 to 7

Following quarterly OECD meetings in January 2009, the risk classification of 32 countries were reviewed. The following eight countries have been upgraded or downgraded:

  • Bulgaria - was downgraded from 3 to 4
  • Croatia - was downgraded from 4 to 5
  • Estonia - was downgraded from 2 to 3
  • Hungary - was downgraded from 3 to 4
  • Latvia - was downgraded from 3 to 4
  • Lithuania - was downgraded from 2 to 3
  • Slovak Republic - was upgraded from 1 to 0
  • Ukraine - was downgraded from 5 to 6
