Enquiries & Application

In this section is the checklist of information that exporters should provide the New Zealand Export Credit Office (NZECO) when seeking indicative support for an export transaction.  It also contains application forms for its guarantees and the criteria and guidelines that the NZECO uses to assess any export credit transaction.

The NZECO encourages exporters to make an enquiry as soon as a potential deal or new market is being considered.  We will explain how we can help you, and can provide an assessment of the country you plan to sell into.  We can also provide you with an NZECO Letter of Support that describes the type and tenor of export credit that the NZECO could guarantee you with.

Contact NZECO staff to receive a checklist of information that exporters should provide when seeking an indication of support from the NZECO.

Approval Process is a step-by-step guide to the NZECO guarantee process.

When assessing a potential export credit transaction, the NZECO must ensure that it adheres to a set of international rules governing officially supported export credits as well as its internal operational guidelines.  Review these at Criteria & Guidelines.

Once an initial indication of support and outline of the potential structure is provided by the NZECO, then the exporter can submit a formal application and payment fee.  The NZECO will then undertake a more robust assessment, including referral to the NZECO’s Agent for processing.  See Application Forms to download the appropriate form.
